Becky...

How can I begin to describe the pain that comes with the passing of the heart of a family? For reasons we cannot understand, she was taken from us too soon. I will forever love her, not only because she was my Mother-in-law, but because she was my dear friend...

Cosby Christmas Party '09

Today we went to the Cosby family party. The boys love it because they have a BOY cousin there!!! Only one, but still, he's a boy! Just like at the party yesterday, as soon as we had finished eating, they were ready to open presents! Lots of LEGOs and Bionicles, money and a couple of really cool Rubik's cube games. They are all at the table right now, building away! 2 parties down, 2 to go! I love Christmas and seeing all the family. (Eating all the yummy foods is a bonus, too!!)

Mountain Christmas!

Today we went to the Russell family Christmas party. The boys love it because it's in the mountains. Lots of icicles on the rocks and plenty of cool places to play! Only 32 of our 59 were able to make it. :( Our kids (mine, Buddy's and Donna's)were the only great-grandkids there (besides Claire and Rachel and they are older GIRLS!), so Riley was very disappointed! It's no fun playing with the kids he sees everyday! The kids reminded me so much of my cousins and me in years past, waiting anxiously for the aunts to pass out the gifts! On our way home, we stopped at the swinging bridge. It's the same bridge that we stopped at with our cousin Laney EVERY year after the Christmas party at aunt Lorsey's house! They thought this was the coolest thing ever! They ran, jumped and swayed back and forth, not at all concerned about the icy Tuckaseegee River below! (I certainly was!!) Bryson had to make a pit stop at the end of the bridge...at least he peed into the water! It was a great trip, worth the 3 hour drive, if only to remember so clearly what a wonderful childhood I had!

Avery's Animals

I've posted pics before of Avery's cute ways of arranging his Webkinz before he goes to sleep. One day last week, I went in to make his bed after he went to school and found them sitting on the "tank" Riley had made out of wood blocks and a paper towel roll. Then, a few nights later, I went in to kiss him goodnight and found several of his favorites suspended by their tails from the slats of Riley's bed! To top it off, he used his Blue Blankie (he's had it since he was 2) to make a "wall" to close off his bed from the rest of the room! I look forward to what may come tonight!!!

Fun with Cousins!

The kids LOVE hot dogs and S'mores!!!
