Kung Fu Chicken?!

The boys love the movie "Kung Fu Panda". In one part of the movie, Po, the panda, gets hit between the legs and yells, "Ohh, my tenders!" Well, this has become the favorite saying of Bryson and Avery! The other day, we were having chicken for supper. When I asked Bryson if he wanted some chicken tenders he got a funny look on his face and said, "Chicken TENDERS?! Are they made from chicken...tenders?" Needless to say, dinnertime was interrupted with uncontrollable laughter!!!

Camping at Cable Cove!

We had a lot of fun camping at Cable Cove this year. The weather was hot, but going to Cheoah Point to swim everyday made it bearable. We did get a little rain the last day, but other than that, it was great! We made several trips to "sliding rock". It's on the nature trail at camp. We used to have so much fun as kids, sliding down it into the icy water with our cousins, so I'm hoping our kids will have the same great memories of spending time there with their cousins! Avery and Sage got in a yellow jacket's nest our first trip up the trail, but they were brave enough to try again! We also stopped to visit with Granny and Uncle David several times. Bryson wasn't too sure about Charlie, though! He didn't know what to think about a dog bigger than him!! The boys are already excited for next year's trip. Riley's favorite part was: "playing checkers in the camper during the rain", Avery's: "swimming at Cheoah Point" and Bryson's: "playing in the lake". Bryson started swimming pretty well in the lake!! We have another little water bug!

Captain Underpants!

This is what happens when I send the boys to get dressed on their own after a shower...

Happy Birthday Riley!!!

I can hardly believe how much that sweet little boy I held in my arms had grown into such a big 9-year-old! It's bittersweet to see how he has changed over such a short amount of time. I remember like it was yesterday, driving by the elementary school when Riley was just 5 months old and crying, because he was already growing too fast and soon he'd be 5 and going to kindergarten!! Now, he's going to be a fourth grader and typing this, I'll cry again! Time flies by so quickly, but it seems like he's been here forever. I can't imagine our family without our precious Ry Ry! Happy birthday buddy! I love you!!

The LONGEST award ceremony ever!!

On the last day of school, we went to the school for Riley's awards ceremony. In his class, he received the PayDay award: A PAYDAY candy bar to recognize all his hard work paying off this year! In the school-wide ceremony, he was recognized for perfect attendance for the 2nd semester and for A-B Honor Roll!! The awards ceremony lasted from 8;30am until 11am!! It went on, and on, and on...
School is finally out for summer!!!!

3rd grade Luau!

Ry's class party was a luau this year. It was blazing hot outside, so the water balloon toss was a big hit!

Awesome Athlete!!

We went to Avery's 1st grade award ceremony on Monday the 8th. He received the AWESOME ATHLETE award!!! We already knew this, but it was nice to see that other people see it too!!! This is him with his teacher Mrs. Freestone and his teacher's assistant, Mrs. Christopher.

Lazy Saturday Afternoon

Now that it's getting warmer and the days are longer, the boys LOVE to be outside and if possible, fishing! These are some pics from last week when they had some good luck!

End of the Season...

Ry's ballgames are over. We are so proud of him and the progress he made this year! His coach says that he's a born ballplayer. He has the potential to be great if he'll work at it! He got his trophy and we're back to freedom on our Saturdays!! (At least until soccer season!)

Baseball games and Trophys

Ry had a game today. They played well, but lost by one. Ry caught a ball and got the kid out! The look on his face was priceless! He looked completely shocked! He got a run, too:) After his game, we had Avery's trophy presentation by his coaches. The pic is blurry (action shot!), but I wanted to post it anyway. His season is finished, but Ry has 2 more games. Hopefully the weather will be a little cooler! You can see by Riley's face that it was HOT!!!

Here Fishy, Fishy...

Jeremy took the boys fishing the other day, and for once, I decided to join them. I caught 3! (One was a minnow!!) Avery caught a couple, but both were the "one that got away!" One, he pulled out of the water and it wiggled off the hook. The second one, he had in his hands and it jumped out and into the water! So, no pics of his catch, but we all had fun!

Spring Fling!

The boys had their Spring Fling at school on Saturday. All the cousins came, too. Cool bouncey slides and castle...lots of fun!
