Fort Fisher "The Rocks"

When the tide goes out, the boys like to go see the rock wall and hunt for hermit crabs. We walked almost all the way around, until the rocks got too slippery! Riley got a few little cuts on his hand from the sharp shells. I slipped, Avery fell once, but we all survived!!! In the last picture, all the way to the far right is where we were parked!!!!! (About a mile, there and back!)

Easter (Beach-Day 2)

The Easter Bunny got word that we'd be at the beach this year, so he pulled through and brought lots of goodies for the boys. They had a couple of egg hunts in the yard before heading down to the shore to feed Lucky Charms to the gulls.

Beach-Day 1

Beautiful Sunrise. Boys in Freezing water! Pelican with eyes the same color as Maw Maw's. And a really cool neighborhood playground!

Riley's Field Trip

Last Thursday, I had the "pleasure" of going on Riley's Historical Tour field trip. When it began, it was actually interesting, but as the day went on, (and on, and on...) it was excruciating!! We went to the Historical Museum, Murray's Mill and the Bunker Hill Covered Bridge. I've come to the conclusion that every wallflower that works in a museum thinks that everything they talk about is the most interesting information on earth. So they talk and talk and talk!!!!! Anyway, Riley enjoyed being out of school for the day!

Hip! Hip! Hooray!! 3 "B's" and 2 "A's"

Riley came home with 2 ribbons today- one for perfect attendance and one for honor roll. I gave him a funny look, kinda like, "yeah right", because, well, it's Riley!! Anyway, we took them out to dinner to celebrate tonight. In the back of my mind, I still questioned whether or not he really earned the honor roll ribbon, or if he maybe found it on the floor! We just got home and I found his report card in his backpack. He got a 92 in reading!!! A 100 in Science (He's Buddy's "mini-me" when it comes to that!) and a 99 in social studies! I am one proud Mommy!

Holy Crappie!!

The boys went fishing with Daddy on Saturday and Bryson snagged a big crappie first thing. Riley caught a perch, but Avery didn't catch any worth keeping. They wanted to eat them, but after Jeremy promised to take them fishing at the beach this weekend, they turned them loose.

Mommy's Big Boy :(

Bryson's preschool class took a field trip to the elementary school to eat in the lunch room, tour the kindergarten classes, gym and library. He and I already spend so much time there, he thinks he owns the place!! So, he had no trouble knowing where to go and how to behave. I'm really going to miss having my little bud here with me this fall...

Schiele Museum

I went on Avery's field trip last Monday to the Schiele Museum in Gastonia. He had so much fun running from one stuffed dead animal to the next!! His favorite part was the gem mining. He got to bring home a bag full of gems, including emeralds! Unfortunately, they aren't clear emeralds, so they aren't worth anything!!
