Mountain Christmas!
Today we went to the Russell family Christmas party. The boys love it because it's in the mountains. Lots of icicles on the rocks and plenty of cool places to play! Only 32 of our 59 were able to make it. :( Our kids (mine, Buddy's and Donna's)were the only great-grandkids there (besides Claire and Rachel and they are older GIRLS!), so Riley was very disappointed! It's no fun playing with the kids he sees everyday! The kids reminded me so much of my cousins and me in years past, waiting anxiously for the aunts to pass out the gifts! On our way home, we stopped at the swinging bridge. It's the same bridge that we stopped at with our cousin Laney EVERY year after the Christmas party at aunt Lorsey's house! They thought this was the coolest thing ever! They ran, jumped and swayed back and forth, not at all concerned about the icy Tuckaseegee River below! (I certainly was!!) Bryson had to make a pit stop at the end of the bridge...at least he peed into the water! It was a great trip, worth the 3 hour drive, if only to remember so clearly what a wonderful childhood I had!
